Dr. Sameer Shrivastava presently serves as the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. He obtained his MD in 1991 and his DM in 1995. His areas of special interest include transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. From 2006 to 2009, he held the position of Secretary of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography. Dr. Shrivastava has made significant contributions as Editor, Executive Editor, and Advisory Committee Member for several prestigious journals, including the International Journal of Cardiology India, CIRCULATION (Indian Edition), HYPERTENSION (Indian Edition), INDIAN HEART JOURNAL, JOURNAL OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF CARDIOLOGY (South East Asian edition), Journal of Indian Academy of Echocardiography, Blood Pressure (Indian Edition), Indian Journal of Geriatric Care, and Fortis Medical Journal. In 2013, he served as the President of the Delhi Chapter of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography. Additionally, he has edited works such as “Cardiology Update 2011” and “Advanced Cardiovascular Medicine.”
As of 2018, he holds the presidency of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography.
Dr. Shrivastava is a member of several professional organizations, including the Cardiological Society of India, Indian Society of Hypertension, Indian Society of Vascular Diseases, Indian Medical Association, Indian Association of Occupational Health, Indian Academy of Echocardiography, Forum for Ethics Review Committees in India (FERCI), and The Association of Physicians of India.
He has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to academic and social initiatives by various esteemed organizations. Notable accolades include the “Clinical Cardiologist of the Year 2003” award, presented on June 29, 2003, by the IMA New Delhi branch in collaboration with the Heart Care Foundation of India and IJCP Group on Doctors' Day, the Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contributions to cardiology on October 2, 2009, from the World Congress on Clinical, Preventive & Geriatric Cardiology (WCCPGC), and the Award of Excellence in Cardiology, conferred by Mrs. Sheila Dixit, Chief Minister of Delhi, on the 22nd.
