Brief Profile:

Dr. Ajay Kumar serves as the Additional Director in the Department of Pulmonology, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram. He has earned his MBBS and MD degrees from the Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. With over 24 years of experience, he specializes in treating a range of lung critical care and sleep disorders. Dr. Kumar is skilled in performing pulmonary interventions, including rigid and flexible bronchoscopy, as well as related procedures such as foreign body removal, transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB), cryobiopsy, electrocautery, argon plasma coagulation (APC), and tracheal stenting. He is also experienced in linear and radial endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and medical thoracoscopy. His extensive experience encompasses the management of complex respiratory cases, including pleural diseases like hydropneumothorax, simple or recurrent pneumothorax, hemoptysis, and airway obstructions, along with the early diagnosis and staging of lung cancers and tumor-related pulmonary complications.
