Dr. Manoj K Goel serves as the Principal Director and Head of the Department of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram.
Dr. Goel obtained his MBBS in 1988 and MD in 1992 from King George Medical College, which is now known as King George Medical University in Lucknow. He holds a Diploma in Interventional Pulmonology from the University of Lille in France. Additionally, he is a Fellow of Intensive Care Medicine from Erasme University Hospital in Brussels, Belgium, and a Fellow in Sleep Medicine from Prince Royal Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He is also a Fellow of the National College of Chest Physicians, the Indian Sleep Disorders Association, and the Indian Association of Bronchology. Furthermore, he is a certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider by the American Heart Association. Dr. Goel has received training in Endobronchial Ultrasound guided techniques, including EBUS - TBNA and Radial Probe Ultrasound guided EBUS - RP biopsy of lung lesions, particularly utilizing Cryo Biopsy technology at the Royal Brisbane Women Hospital in Brisbane, Australia
. He has served as a guest speaker, Course Director, and Chairperson at major national conferences in India that focus on Pulmonology, Bronchology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Goel has played a significant role as a member of the organizing committee for major conferences, workshops, and symposiums in Delhi related to these fields. He has conducted numerous conferences, symposiums, and workshops in Delhi and throughout the country as Course Director. Notably, he was among the pioneers to introduce noninvasive ventilation and sleep medicine in India. He initiated a Training Program on Bronchoscopy in ICU for Intensivists in India.
Dr. Goel has authored 25 publications in both national and international journals. He has been honored with a National Award from the National College of Chest Physicians for his research in Pulmonary Interventions. Additionally, he is a former Executive Member of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (Delhi and NCR). His special interest areas include Pulmonology, Interventional Pulmonology, Bronchoscopy, EBUS Bronchoscopy, Medical Thoracoscopy, Cryobiopsy, Airway Stenting, Systemic Pulmonology Diseases, and the management of difficult-to-treat asthma, as well as chronic and acute lung diseases.
