Dr. Belal Bin Asaf is a thoracic surgeon specializing in the treatment of surgical thoracic diseases involving the lungs, mediastinum, trachea, esophagus and diaphragm. He is nationally recognized as an expert and leader in the field of minimally invasive thoracic surgery such as video-assisted surgery (VATS/keyhole surgery) and robotic thoracic surgery. He has a specialty and special interest in minimally invasive surgery (VATS) for lung cancer and is one of the most experienced surgeons in the country performing robotic thymectomy for myasthenia gravis and thymoma. He is also one of the few surgeons in the country who performs mesothelioma surgery. He is a frequent guest and has given dozens of lectures at various national and international conferences on VATS and robotic thoracic surgery.
